Active Surveillance

The mpMRI used at IHS can help distinguish between aggressive cancers and slower-growing cancers. When a man is diagnosed with a slower-growing cancer, mpMRI can be used to monitor the progression of the disease over time and to make sure the disease remains localized to the prostate gland, and has not spread.

Based on your original diagnosis, your doctor will recommend the frequency with which you should be imaged with mpMRI during active surveillance.
